Taking place on November 3rd, 2018, the Georgia Gravel Grinduro, aka the 3G, was a new event for 2018, set in the Appalachian mountains of Georgia. When people think of Georgia, they usually associate the state with peaches and Atlanta, a former host to the Olympic games in 1996. But mountains? Starting and finishing in Helen, Georgia, a town replicating a Bavarian alpine town but in the Appalachian mountains, over 100 riders took on the challenge of the Grinduro (108-miles), the Radical (62-miles) and the Scramble (28-miles). JOM of the Gravel Cyclist crew attended the event and opted for the Radical, 62-mile version. Sit back and relax as you see the event from JOM's point of view, front and rear. This challenging course is far from flat, featuring over 5,000 ft / 1,500 metres of climbing along the way.
