Georgia “State of Gravel”

Event Details

Online registration is open and will close at NOON on Friday Nov. 13th.   There will be onsite reg starting at 7:30.

-Due to local concerns regarding hunting season in the area we have altered the routes to be more courteous to the hunting population. Yes, we propably could have ridden the orginal route without bothering anyone but we’d like to play it safe and avoid the National Forest and the Wildlife Management Area for this fall event. Next spring when we go back to our original date we can use the other course.  Trust us, these gravel roads are just as sweet as the others.
-Camp Swamp is the host for our event again and they do not allow pets or alcohol on property. Please be respectful of these policies.
-There will be a mandatory rider meeting at the Start/Finish Line at 8:45am. This will only last for 10 minutes to allow for last minute prep before we start promptly at 9am.
-The SAG Stop and Timing Checkpoint is located at mile 28 for all riders. It is SUPER important that you go through the timing mat so we can have accurate count of riders for safety at this point. The 69 milers will pass back through this same timing line and SAG Stop at Mile 61.
-When riders arrive at the SAG the 69 milers go right and the 38 milers go left.
-There are shower facilities on site at the Camp so bring a towel and enjoy the post event fun after getting the dirt off.
-There will be food and drink provided for the riders after the ride so plan to stick around and cheer on the other riders as they finish.
-The State of Gravel is on very remote roads with VERY limited cell service. Please be prepared with simple basic tools.

TopView Sports is proud to OFFICIALLY Announce the Georgia “State of Gravel” Call it an unofficial State Champs, call it grass roots gravel racing, call it whatever you like. Located just south of Athens this event is in the heart of some great dirt road riding. There will be two course options.  Both Rides Start and Finish on DIRT! One of very few gravel events to do so.
The long will be 69 miles and has ONLY 8 MILES of Paved Roads!
The Adventure ride is 36 miles with less than 5 miles of paved roads.    Almost unheard of in Gravel racing/riding to have such a high percentage of dirt. The event will be on Saturday Nov 14th at 9AM  More details and info below.   Both rides will start at the same time.
